Background:Approximately 14.5 mile long route and the total estimate project cost is $1.79 billion will be funded through federal, state and local sources.
The project currently under engineering design phase with 90% of the work completed, heavy construction is scheduled to take place in 2017 and the project will begin passenger services as an extension of the Green Line in 2020. The project includes: construction of bridges, retaining walls, Tunnels, 15 new stations, 9 park and rides with connections to streets and trails will be built, attracting new residential and commercial development in the area. |
Scope of Work
The project is a Metro Green line Extension and will serve the growing communities of five cities, it will operate from downtown Minneapolis to St. Louis Park, Minnetonka, Hopkins and Eden Prairie.
